NFL cornerback Logan Ryan announced he will not be returning to the Tennessee Titans.

Ryan revealed his exit via Instagram on Tuesday after spending the last three seasons in Tennessee, where the Titans reached the AFC Championship in January.

The two-time Super Bowl champion does not know who will be playing for next season, but he is sure where he will not be playing.

"My chapter in Tennessee has come to a close," Ryan wrote. "To the @Titans fans: Thank you for all the love. The energy and support this past season is what led to an epic run.

"To my Titans Team-mates: I love all y'all. Being a leader and earning y'all respect is what meant most to me. Win or lose we stuck together and backed down from no one.

"To the Animal Welfare Community: My foundation @rarf was founded and blossomed in TN. All those working hard to support our four-legged friends I'm forever grateful.

"I'm looking forward to continue to play at an elite level for an organisation that's a great fit for my family and me. Everybody Stay Safe & Positive during these crazy times."

Ryan appeared in 45 games – all starts – for the Titans the past three seasons and totalled 251 tackles, 37 passes defended, 8.5 sacks and four interceptions.

His most memorable play as a Titan came when he intercepted former New England Patriots team-mate Tom Brady at the end of the AFC wild-card game this past January and returned it for a touchdown to seal a stunning 20-13 upset.

Ryan spent his first four seasons with the Patriots and tallied 13 interceptions in 64 games.
