Joe Burrow, is the starting quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals and can thus boast of an income that is beyond the reach of the average man. Burrow played his college football with LSU and came to the league on the back of some exceptional performances throughout his 2 years there. In the 2019 college season, Joe Burrow had one of the most memorable outings for a quarterback and finished the year as the winner of the Heisman Trophy amongst many other accolades. Naturally, Burrow was envisioned as the number 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and the Cincinnati Bengals pounced on the opportunity. The Bengals reportedly offered him a $36.2 million dollars contract for a four-year deal with a $23.9 million signing bonus making him one of the highest paid rookies in 2020.
With that being said, Burrow is still known to be very thoughtful when it comes to spending his lavish salary. Even though he is a relatively new entrant to the league, Burrow is not one to splurge on his paycheck but rather one to save his earnings till the time is right. And this is very much evident from the fact that even after 3 years into his NFL career, he still lives in his parent’s house in Athens, Ohio. As hard as this is to believe, it was mentioned by Burrow himself in a podcast some time after he got drafted back in 2020. As it so happens, there is still no news of Joe Burrow purchasing a new house for himself.
The Burrow’s family house in Athens, Ohio was purchased back in 2005 for approximately $240,000. Today, the house is estimated to be worth around $325,000. It consists of 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and is located in a cul-de-sac. While on a podcast, Burrow did confirm that his earlier bedroom was in fact Star Wars themed but he has made some changes to it such as upgrading to a king size bed and changing the comforters from the Star Wars ones.

Burrow entered the NFL with a lot riding on his shoulders after his Heisman Trophy winning season for LSU. After the Bengals drafted Burrow first overall, he was put in as the starting quarterback from the get go. Burrow made a fantastic start to his NFL career as he became the first rookie quarterback throwing for 300+ yards in 3 consecutive games. He also holds the NFL rookie record for the most completed passes in a single game with 37. He then went on to become the first NFL rookie to ever record more than 400 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns and 1 rushing touchdown in a single game. However, his rookie season was cut short in the second half of week 11’s game against the Washington Football Team when he was hit low, tearing his ACL and MCL in the knee.
In the 2021 season, Burrow quickly picked up from where he had left the previous season and finished the season with 4,611 passing yards and 34 passing touchdowns which were both franchise records. He was top of the league in passing completion percentage at 70.4% and average yards per pass attempt with 8.9. Very rightly, the comeback player of the year award was given to Burrow for his efforts en route to Super Bowl LVI.
In 2022, Burrow and the Bengals once again reached the AFC Conference Finals game on the back of another remarkable season. With Burrow’s rookie contract winding down, it is believed that he will receive a long term extension with his new contract. It remains to be seen whether Burrow will finally step out and purchase a home for himself after the new contract.
