Ohio-born football guard Joseph Thuney was drafted in the third round (78th pick) of the 2016 NFL Draft. He started his NFL career with the New England Patriots recording more snaps than any Patriot in 2016. Thuney was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team 2016. He became the first ever NFL to start three consecutive Super Bowls (LI, LII, LIII) in his first three seasons winning two of them. After spending five seasons with the Patriots, Thuney signed a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021.

Thuney is in his fourth season with the Chiefs in 2024. In his first nine seasons, the decorated guard already has four Super Bowls. He is also a two-time Pro Bowl (2022,2023) and was named to the First-team All-Pro in 2023. Thuney attended North Carolina University from (2011-2015). He was a finalist for the Campbell Trophy, which honors the player who combines the finest qualities of academics, community service, and on-field success.
