Capital One's The Match VI - Brady & Rodgers v Allen & Mahomes

Former Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes is coming off yet another clutch Sunday Night Football victory. After watching the game, one NFL analyst woke up on Monday morning with seemingly shaky but increasing confidence in the Chiefs quarterback. Speaking on 'Get Up,' NFL analyst Ryan Clark expressed an expectation that the quarterback will be the last one standing in February. Here's how he put it:

"Everyone at the top of the AFC can win it to me. And obviously you're going to lean toward Kansas City because of their quarterbacks, but we also watched their quarterback in the second half of the AFC Championship not be Patrick Mahomes."

He went on, explaining that he was leaning toward the Chiefs but also had confidence in other AFC powerhouses:

"I think it is a toss up right now when you look at the Dolphins, the Bills, the Baltimore Ravens, [and] the Kansas City Chiefs. You lean [toward] Kansas City because of the quarterback, but this is going to be a fun playoff."

Did Patrick Mahomes have a Super Bowl-level performance on Sunday Night Football?

While he may have looked shaky at times last season, the former Super Bowl MVP has been as consistent as ever in 2022. Sunday Night Football's game against the Los Angeles Chargers was just another highlight reel for the quarterback as he threw for 329 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

He reached those numbers by completing 20 out of 34 pass attempts. Of his 20 completions, tight end Travis Kelce had a team-leading six catches. With those six catches, he earned 115 yards and three touchdowns. In PPR fantasy leagues, it was the tight end's best game of the year.

In 2022, the quarterback has thrown for 28 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The red-hot Chiefs will hope to keep the pedal to the metal next week as they face the reigning Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams.
