Smael Mondon Jr. is an American football linebacker who played at the University of Georgia from 2021 to 2024. Following the 2024 season, he officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft via his personal Instagram handle: @4smael. Smael Jr. is from Dallas, Georgia according to his Georgia Bulldogs roster. He finished his schooling at Paulding County High School in his hometown, where he was rated a five-star recruit upon graduation. In 2020, Smael Jr. was selected to participate in the 2021 All-American Bowl.

Smael Jr. started his college career as a redshirt freshman at Georgia in 2021 and played in all 15 games as a reserve and recorded 10 tackles with one sack. Mondon Jr. became a starter in his second year (2022), with a team-best 76 tackles and missing two games because of an ankle injury. During his junior year (2023), he was named Second-Team All-SEC after recording 68 tackles and three sacks. His senior year of college featured several standout performances, including a season-high 13 tackles against Georgia Tech and an eight-tackle game against Tennessee that included a critical third-down sack, as per his Georgia Bulldogs roster.

Smael Mondon Jr.'s parents, Rolade and Smael Mondon Sr. came to the United States from the Ivory Coast in the early 1990s. Initially settling in New York, they worked in gas stations and restaurants while getting their college educations and raising their young family.
