Taylor Heinicke is an American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL as of 2024. Heinicke attended Collins Hill High School, where he began his football career. As a senior in high school, Heinicke was named the Old Spice National Player of the Year in the state of Georgia. He started his collegiate career with the University of Old Dominion in 2011. As a freshman in 2011, Heincike recorded 211 of his 307 passes with just one interception and 25 touchdowns. Due to his impressive performances, he was named CFPA Freshman Performer of the Year and winner of the CFPA Quarterback Award.

As a sophomore in 2012, Heincike was named CAA Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-CAA quarterback. In 2013, he recorded 340-of-486 passes for 4,022 yards and 33 touchdowns while becoming one of just 18 Division quarterbacks to have thrown more than 100 career touchdown passes. Heinicke's senior year was his breakthrough year when he was named Conference USA Honorable Mention by recording 289-of-257 passes for 3,476 yards and 30 touchdowns in 12 games.
