Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce has become the butt of many jokes in recent years for his strange social media behavior. On Tuesday, Pierce was once again ridiculed by fans, this time, for a simple selfie.

Ahead of his appearance on “Undisputed” on Tuesday to cover the tip-off of the 2023-24 NBA season, Pierce posted a GIF selfie on X:

“I’m back. Check me on @undisputed today, NBA opening, night it’s going down,” Pierce captioned the GIF.

Fans were then quick to mock the Celtics legend for his odd choice of promotion and his technological illiteracy:

“A GIF selfie is insane. This man is constantly innovating,” one fan said.
“I thought he was glitching until I saw it was a GIF,” another fan said.

During his Undisputed appearance, Paul Pierce gave his 2024 NBA championship prediction. Unsurprisingly, Pierce picked his Boston Celtics as his title favorites entering the season:

“The Boston Celtics easily have the best starting five in all of basketball. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are coming into their prime as we speak. We saw what they are capable of.
“Adding (Kristaps) Porzingis, Jrue Holiday, a veteran leader who replaces Marcus Smart, who we desperately needed, a guy with championship pedigree. They gotta be the favorite. What starting five is better than the Boston Celtics?”

Pierce also chose the Phoenix Suns as his favorites in the Western Conference:

“And then, on the other side, I'm going to go with the Phoenix Suns.”

The Celtics have arguably the best six-man lineup in the league with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford and Derrick White. Meanwhile, the Suns have arguably the top Big 3 in the league with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

So, Pierce’s prediction could prove to be accurate. However, both teams will face huge competition this year, including from the defending champion Denver Nuggets and the new-and-improved Milwaukee Bucks.
