Deshaun Watson expects to be ready to participate when the Houston Texans open their training camp next week.

Quarterback Watson tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a practice session on November 2 last year, cutting short a promising rookie season.

The 22-year-old underwent surgery to repair the damage and, after going through rehab for over eight months, is set to return to work with his team-mates.

"I feel great. I'm getting ready for next week when we report to Greenbrier and I'm gonna be a full-go," Watson said during an appearance on the Good Morning Football show on the NFL Network.

In his seven games for Houston, Watson completed nearly 62 percent of his passes and averaged 8.3 yards per attempt. He also threw for 19 touchdowns against eight interceptions.

Selected with the 12th pick of the 2017 draft, the Georgia native started the campaign behind Tom Savage on the depth chart, only to take over the starting spot after the opening week.
