The sunflower is a type of flower that is naturally generated in the Overworld and it is one of several different types of flowers in the game. They are used for decoration but are also required for crafting yellow dye. They are a non-cultivable plant unlike wheat, sugarcane, etc.

The sunflower is a flower that is only found in the sunflower plains biome and they can be broken instantly with any tool or even with your bare hands. You can also harvest them with a pair of shears. A sunflower will mostly be generated in random patches on dirt and grass blocks. You also have a small chance of spawning a sunflower when using Bone Meal on a grass block.
