DeMarco Murray has announced his retirement after seven seasons in the NFL.

The running back - who appeared in three Pro Bowls during his career - played for both the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles before finishing up with the Tennessee Titans.

The 30-year-old finishes with impressive figures, having rushed for 7,174 yards and 49 touchdowns while also catching 307 passes for 2,165 yards and six scores.

After being cut by the Titans in March, Murray revealed his decision during an appearance on ESPN.

"It's been a long time thinking, the last year or two, and physically, mentally and emotionally, I think it's time for me to hang it up," Murray said on ESPN's NFL Live show.

Murray led the NFL in rushing in 2014 when playing for the Cowboys, going for 1,845 yards with 13 touchdowns to be voted the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year.
