Trevor Penning is an American football offensive tackle for the New Orleans Saints as of the 2024 NFL season. The New Orleans Saints selected him as the 19th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. After appearing in six games, Pennings suffered a toe injury in his rookie year. He has had his share of injury problems since his draft concluding to his less game time in the league. Attending Newman Catholic High School in Mason City he captained his team. Penning also lettered in basketball and track and field in high school.
Penning committed to the University of Northern Iowa playing for the Panthers from 2017 to 2021. He was redshirted in his freshman year and played in four games in 2018. Penning became a regular in 2019, appearing in 15 games that season. Playing at left tackle in 2021, he started all 12 games.
