Jac Collinsworth Career

Jac Collinsworth attended the University of Notre Dame where he used to play football. However, an injury sidetracked his NFL career and he chose to follow his father Cris Collinsworth into the world of sportscasting.

Jac started his career with NBC where he used to work in the sideline production team to cover Notre Dame football. He also served as the social media correspondent for NBC during the 2016 Rio Olympics. After graduating from Notre Dame in 2017, Jac went on to work with ESPN. He was the feature reporter for ESPN Sunday NFL Countdown. He also started hosting NFL Live for ESPN during the NFL Offseason. Jac also hosted the ACC Network’s premier football show called ‘The Huddle’.

Jac Collinsworth joined NBC in 2020 again. His father Cris Collinsworth was initially not too keen on his son joining him at NBC. Cris felt that Jac was doing good at ESPN. However, Jac’s quickfire success at NBC changed Cris Collinsworth’s mind about him joining the network.

Jac Collinsworth started his second NBC stint as the co-host for ‘Football Night in America’. He also served as the pre-game and post-game host for Notre Dame football on NBC. He has been a host for pre-game and post-game shows for NASCAR on NBC. Jac has also covered college basketball as a sportscaster as he was a play-by-play announcer for the Atlantic-10 Conference men’s basketball. He is still the voice of the Atlantic-10 men’s basketball. In 2021 Jac Collinsworth was an on-site contributor for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics for Peacock. He occasionally serves as a reporter for the Kentucky Derby and the Indianapolis 500 too.

Jac Collinsworth made his debut in the Super Bowl in 2022 when he was the co-host for the Super Bowl LVI Pregame Show. He is now a play-by-play announcer for the NBC coverage of USFL. He also does play-by-play coverage of Notre Dame football for NBC.
