India retain Vijay for final two Australia clashes
The India-Australia Test series is locked at one apiece, with the hosts hoping Murali Vijay can feature in the final two matches.
Murali Vijay has been retained in India's squad for the closing two Tests against Australia, despite missing the previous match with a shoulder injury.
The opener suffered the setback while fielding during the opening-Test loss in Pune, forcing him to watch from the sidelines as the hosts levelled the series in Bangalore last time out.
He will hope to recover in time to feature in the third meeting in Ranchi, with play starting next Thursday.
However, Hardik Pandya – who also has a shoulder problem – has been cut from the squad.
India won the second Test by 75 runs, having lost the opener by 333 runs.
India squad: Virat Kohli (captain), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Abhinav Mukund, Karun Nair, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, Wriddhiman Saha, Ishant Sharma, Murali Vijay, Jayant Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav.
