WATCH: Luckless Poulter in the water via the pin
What appeared to be a brilliantly judged second shot from Ian Poulter ended up in the water after striking the pin.
Ian Poulter this week said he would give his left arm to play in the Ryder Cup next year but the Englishman will also need a change of luck on the evidence of his second round at the Turkish Airlines Open.
Poulter's approach shot at the fifth hole looked perfect until it crashed against the pin and rolled into the water in Antalya on Friday.
Rather than be left with a straightforward putt for a third birdie of the day, the 41-year-old was instead wondering how he had managed a bogey and went on to drop a shot at the following hole at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort.
Poulter gave up another two shots on the back nine before signing for a level-par 71, leaving him nine shots adrift of leader Nicolas Colsaerts.

Four-time Ryder Cup winner Poulter posted the European Tour's clip of the shot on Twitter and wrote: "Bloody good shot sir.. Oh Lovely, Simply Lovely.. it's ok, Got plenty in the tank for the weekend... Worse, how could it be worse.."
