Vikings & Danielle Hunter agree to reported $72M contract extension
The Minnesota Vikings have signed defensive end Danielle Hunter to a reported five-year, $72million contract extension.
Hunter, who was entering the last year of his rookie deal, will reportedly receive $40m guaranteed and a $15m signing bonus.
A 2015 third-round pick out of LSU, Hunter has recorded 147 total tackles, 91 solo tackles, 25.5 sacks and 36 tackles for loss.
The 23-year-old had six sacks as a rookie and led the Vikings with 12.5 the following season in 2016.
With Hunter's deal in the books, the Vikings can now turn their attention to potential new contracts for linebacker Anthony Barr and receiver Stefon Diggs, who are each entering the final year of their contracts.
