Taylor handed Northants coaching role
Northamptonshire are hoping James Taylor can help them mount a challenge in the Royal London One Day Cup.
Former England batsman James Taylor has been employed as a coaching consultant by Northamptonshire.
The 27-year-old batsman was forced to retire almost a year ago after being diagnosed with a serious heart condition.
Taylor, who played 27 one-day internationals and seven Tests, has worked in the media and coached since his playing days came to a premature end.
The ex-Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire man has now been given the opportunity to pass on his experience to the Northants players in the Royal London One Day Cup Competition.
"I'm excited – They are a skilful side who have clearly done well in One Day Cricket in the past. I spent a bit of time commentating at The County Ground last season and am keen to offer up my expertise to the squad." said Taylor.
"Whilst my focus will no doubt be on the batsmen, I will be on hand to assist across all areas. I can't wait to get started."
