Vandersay replaces injured Herath for final Test against India
Jeffrey Vandersay is in contention for a Test debut in the absence of Rangana Herath, who is suffering with a back injury.
Uncapped leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay has been called up to the Sri Lanka squad for the third and final Test against India after Rangana Herath was ruled out.
Herath is suffering from back spasms and the veteran tweaker will sit out the last match of the series in Delhi, which starts on Saturday.
Vandersay comes into contention for a Test debut in the absence of the 39-year-old Herath, who took only one wicket in the first two Tests against Virat Kohli's men.
Herath also missed the last Test between the two sides when India toured Sri Lanka in July and August this year.
Sri Lanka suffered their heaviest Test defeat to go 1-0 down in the series on Monday, losing by an innings and 239 runs in Nagpur.
